Restylane is an
excellent product used to
temporarily correct facial lines and wrinkles as
well as plumping lips. Restylane dermal filler
contains hyaluronic acid which is a product found
in our skin naturally. Unlike collagen based
products, Restylane is not extracted from animals
and therefore there is no risk of developing an
allergic reaction and also means that treatment
can be performed at the time as your
consultation. |

Restylane contains hyaluronic acid that works with
the bodys own naturally
occurring hyaluronan and joins forces to create volume wherever it is being
injected. There are three variations of Restylane and each is used for a particular
indication. The product known as Restylane Finelines is excellent for filling the
tiny, fine feather lines around the mouth and lips. Regular Restylane is best for
augmenting your lips or for filling shallow wrinkles and Perlane offers a larger
molecule in its gel which may help in a better filling effect in facial lines that are
deeper or more prominent.
Treatment with Restylane takes approximately 30 minutes and results are seen
immediately. A topical numbing cream is often applied to the area to be treated,
or injected freezing (similar to the dentists freezing) can be used for lip
enhancement. Although there is a risk of slight bruising, swelling or redness at
the injection sites, this is generally minimal and can be concealed with makeup.
There is no need for either time off work or time away from your busy schedule
when you choose to be treated with any of the Restylane product family.
Restylane is not a permanent filler and lasts approximately 4-6 months on
average. Unlike permanent implants, Restylane, Restylane Finelines and Perlane
always leave you a choice when the effect of the treatment has worn off. Most
people choose to have a repeat treatment within 6-12 months of the original
treatment.
